We are going to do the national 3 peaks challenge over the 23/24 April 2010 in aid of the Forces Children's Trust. This challenge will see the team members Climb mainland Britain's three highest mountains within 24 hours. Start in Wales to climb Snowdon (3560 ft) then travel to the Lake District to clamber over Scafell Pike (3162 ft) then finally to Scotland and Fort William and limp up Ben Nevis (4409 ft). This will all be attempted within the time limit of 24 hours from start to finish inclusive of the driving time between the mountains!
Our warm up for this event is the Yorkshire 3 peaks which has a total ascent of more than 5000 ft over 42km (about 26 miles), the Yorkshire Three Peaks takes in- Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough and will be attempted in under 12 hours!
