			<title>The Forces Children's Trust</title>
			<link>http://www.forceschildrenstrust.org/The-Trust/The-Forces-Children-s-Trust.html</link>
			<description>
The Forces Children&amp;rsquo;s Trust is a charity devoted to helping dependent children that have lost a parent whilst serving with the Armed Forces.

The FCT, by reason of its aims and size, has the flexibility and ability to make decisions and offer help as needed, with minimum fuss and consequent time-loss. The scope of its ability to help both an individual and a group of children in similar circumstances is illustrated by two recent cases. It provided special software for a dyslexic young boy who had sadly lost his father. The cost was beyond the mother in her present circumstances and not available from other sources. The immediate response by the FCT enabled the young boy to instantly improve his educational skills.

In contrast, the Trust funded and enabled a trip to London for a group of young children to see the hit-show &amp;lsquo;Mary Poppins'. This included an overnight stay as well as restaurant meals and other visits together with their mothers and escorts from the Army/RAF Widows Associations. In addition, a dream came true for many children and the trusts founder Denny Wise with a special trip to see 'The Sound Of Music' at the London Palladium, leading to an even more magical surprise with Noel Edmonds.

			<title>The longest route to ASDA</title>
			<link>http://www.forceschildrenstrust.org/Fundraising/The-longest-route-to-ASDA.html</link>
			<description>
After a long day being dragged around the shops by my wife and kids whilst on Christmas leave I settled down to watch Noel Edmonds Christmas Presents show. All the way through the programme I noticed one good cause after another receiving well deserved surprises and gifts, the programme was close to the end and came to its last 10 minutes, it's then I saw ( to me ) the most well deserved cause of all - The Forces Children's Trust. After seeing the great job the charity does and being a serving soldier in the British Army and also having lost friends on operational duty who had kids and seeing the heartache and pain the loss of a father causes I felt I had no choice than to try and help this cause as much as I could, so I sat down and thought of a plan to put to my troop when they returned from leave to raise money.

They will have to navigate around major airways such as Plymouth, Exeter, Bristol, Birmingham, and East Midlands (not to mention the military Fighter Jet dog fighting in Scotland!)

			<title>Marathon Canoe - Scotland to Ireland</title>
			<link>http://www.forceschildrenstrust.org/Fundraising/Marathon-Canoe-Scotland-to-Ireland.html</link>
			<description>
At 5:30 on the 12th of May five canoeist arrived in the Port of Larne &amp;ndash; Northern Ireland after kayaking the 27 miles from Portpatrick on the Scottish coast. Eight and a half hours earlier we had been waved off by our supporters from a windswept beach with dire warnings of being run over by the SeaCat ringing in our ears.
