Carlin join forces with the Forces Children's Trust PDF Print E-mail

2008 British F3 champions Carlin Motorsport have entered a sponsorship agreement with Tracksmart, a consumable goods supplier to the motorsport and motor industry for the 2009 season.  The sponsorship agreement will see the two companies come together in support of the Forces Children's Trust, a charity established to help children who have lost parents in the armed forces.

The championship winning team will carry the Forces Children's Trust logo on its cars in the 2009 season.  The Carlin squad, who won 14 races in the 2008 season, will work alongside Tracksmart to arrange events and trips to selected rounds of the 2009 British F3 series for some of the children affected by losing a parent.

The Forces Children's Trust was established in 2004 by Mr Denny Wise, and is devoted to helping dependent children that have lost or had a parent incapacitated whilst serving in the armed forces.  Over 300 soldiers have been killed in action in Afghanistan and Iraq in recent years, with many of those leaving behind young children.  The Forces Children's Trust works with both individuals and groups of children, providing educational and social opportunities while also providing support and advice to families.

Owner of Tracksmart Bill Moss has a long standing relationship with the Forces Children's Trust and is a friend of the charity.  Commenting on the sponsorship agreement with Carlin, Mr Moss said, "I've been looking for a partner in the motorsport industry to help support the Forces Children's Trust for some time, and Carlin seemed the perfect candidate.

This sponsorship agreement will provide Carlin with various consumable products for its F3 teams, but most importantly will allow us to work together in raising the charity's profile and hosting events for some of the children who have lost parents in the armed forces."

Carlin director Martin Stone added, "It's great to be in a position to be able to help a charity such as the Forces Children's Trust.  The Carlin team is based in Aldershot, the home of the British Army, so it's very fitting that we will be working with a charity involved with the armed forces.  We're looking forward to seeing some of the children at the F3 races and will be proud to have the Forces Children's Trust logos on our cars for the 2009 season."
