Pupils from Shrewsbury House School celebrated their final assembly before the long summer holiday by giving a major boost to three local charities, including the Forces Children's Trust.
The students have raised an impressive £3OOOO for good causes in the past academic year and youngsters Max Simpson, Jamie Bullen and Gareth Hughes presented a £9,000 cheque to each of Surbiton’s Dysart School, the Forces Children’s Trust and the Children’s Trust. The proud pupils raised most of the cash through their annual sponsored cross-country run, and showed off their achievement during a quick jog around the school joined by former mayor of Kingston David Berry. Headteacher Mark Ross said: “Yet again we are delighted to in a position to give our support to these well deserving local children’s organisations. The annual sponsored cross country event is a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon in the school’s calendar. The boys always impress me with how hard they work to raise such remarkable funds. It is entirely appropriate that these should go to children’s organisations and charities.” |
